RiskCap is looking for highly motivated individuals for the roles of Personal Assistant, Junior Risk Associate, Junior Compliance Associate, Junior Lawyer and Senior Risk Associate. RiskCap was established in 2013, and is locally already considered a leader in the field of governance, risk and compliance – providing outsourced and customised solutions to the finance industry. RiskCap currently services funds, both local and international, accumulating over €1.5 billion in assets, as well as other financial institutions.

PERSONAL ASSISTANT

Role and Responsibilities:

The Personal Assistant shall be involved in various tasks within the Company such as:

  • Provide friendly service and support to clients.
  • Perform administrative duties such as scanning, managing files, handling phone calls and mail and perform general accounting support duties.
  • Prepare information for presentation to clients including presentations, engagement letters and proposals.
  • Assist the Managing Director with any business development projects as required.
  • Data cleaning of in-house databases.
  • Assist with the organization of events, conferences and other sessions.

Qualifications:

The candidate will have:

  • 1-2 years experience in administrative work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, acute attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of languages (including fluency in English) is considered important to be able to speak in a friendly way to clients and potential clients.
  • Committed to excellence and high standards.
  • Have strong organizational, problem saving and analytical skills.

JUNIOR RISK ASSOCIATE

Role and Responsibilities:

The junior risk associate will assist senior risk personnel and will:

  • Evaluate risks in portfolio.
  • Monitor the investment restrictions on a regular basis.
  • Project potential losses and make recommendations to limit risk through diversification and other investment strategies.
  • Prepare risk reports covering market, liquidity, credit and counterparty risks.
  • Help clients minimize or eliminate financial risks that could be detrimental towards their business goals.

Qualifications:

The candidate will:

  • Have (or in the process of obtaining) a B.Com (Hons) in Banking and Finance, Mathematics or Statistics or equivalent.
  • Be eager to learn and grow.
  • Have a good eye for detail.
  • Already have exposure to the finance industry with some background knowledge in risk management, financial markets and financial instruments.
  • Knowledge of EU and local regulations is considered an asset.

JUNIOR COMPLIANCE ASSOCIATE

Role and Responsibilities:

The Junior Compliance Associate will:

  • Provide assistance and support to the Compliance Manager for the implementation of compliance programs of various clients.
  • Carry out due diligence, risk assessments and compliance checks for new business. Undertaking periodic reviews and risk assessments of existing client relationships and business and on new and existing companies.
  • Prepare regular compliance reports for the Board of Directors.
  • Keep abreast with international sanctions and their implications to the institution.
  • Keep abreast with new rules and regulations and their implementation.
  • Other ad-hoc projects from time to time as the case may be.

Qualifications:

The candidate will have a:

  • Keen interest to work in compliance in the finance industry.
  • General understanding of the different local and international regulations.
  • Analytical and decisive skills, with the ability to prioritise and communicate key objectives to achieve organisational goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

JUNIOR LAWYER

Role and Responsibilities:

The Junior Lawyer will:

  • Maintain the company’s legal agenda, mainly in the area of corporate, contractual, labour and civil law and regulatory matters.
  • Prepare of internal corporate documentation, organization of general meetings, execution of corporate changes etc.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements on behalf of the company.
  • Participate in key business projects.
  • Monitor new legislation and its subsequent implementation within the company.
  • Communicate and provide expert guidance to the board on future legislation and regulatory changes.
  • Be interested in sitting on boards of companies.

Qualifications:

The candidate will have:

  • Already acquired a warrant to practice law in Malta.
  • A basic knowledge and experience of financial services law (especially funds) and corporate law (company incorporation, transfer of shares, ROC regulations, etc.).
  • Previous experience in finance (1-2 years) is considered an asset.
  • Be dedicated, hard-working, highly organised and able to adapt to a fast-paced working environment.
  • Be able to work well in a team as well as independently,
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English. Knowledge of other languages is considered an asset.

SENIOR RISK ASSOCIATE

Role and Responsibilities:

The Senior Risk Associate will:

  • Assist in the planning, development and implementation of assigned activities and programs associated with risk management for RiskCap’s clients.
  • Be involved in the evaluating of risks in portfolio decisions.
  • Be able to demonstrate leadership skills to manage a team of junior risk analysts, excellent problem solving skills and judgment, possess exceptional integrity and ambiguity tolerance, and build strong partnerships with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

Qualifications:

The candidate will:

  • Ideally have 2-3 years’ experience with proven analytical skills in risk management and/or audit in fund management.
  • Have good reporting and client facing skills.
  • A tertiary degree in Finance, Mathematics or Economics is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the AIFMD, UCITS and local fund regulations is essential.
  • Eager to succeed and become a Risk Manager for a number of clients.
